UAE Newborn Photography – Preparing for your session

For any UAE newborn photography sessions, the parents will receive very helpful tips for them to prepare for their session. The clients usually contact us in their second trimester, once they are happy with the package information, and the deposit has been paid, I will put their due date in my diary. When the baby arrives, an appointment will be given within the first two weeks, this is when the welcome booklet is given.

The UAE newborn photography session will be successful if the parents help to follow the useful instructions. The most important one I advice is to try and keep the baby awake 1-2 hours before the session. The response I usually always get is my baby sleeps all the time, which is very true if they are left to sleep in their baskets or their loving parents arms. We will disturb the baby by moving them from one pose to the next, so if they have had no awake time prior they will be in a very light sleep and become frustrated in between set ups. To help to keep the baby asleep I will use a baby susher for continuous noise.

Another request is for the baby to be given a full feed before they leave their home. This means the baby has time for their little tummies to settle so will feel more comfortable in the poses. Usually the baby will arrive to the studio asleep due to the car journey, It is extremely helpful if their clothing is easily removed so I don’t disturb the baby. Therefor clothing that opens in the front is preferable. If the parents request family images I make sure they come wearing something cool and lose as the studio gets very warm. They will have time later to change for their part in the session.

The day before the UAE newborn photography session, the parents will choose their favorite props and colours to be used. For the boys the most popular is the plane from Mr & Mrs and co, for the girls, the adorable nest with flowers from Newborn Baby Posing. Prior to the shoot I make sure the parents are aware that I will handle the baby 90% of the time unless they need breastfeeding. For some parents this can be extremely difficult but I am sure my experience with babies shows in the first few minutes when they arrive.

A family photographer who’s work I admire is Julie Grant photography who is a children and family photographer in Loughborough, Leicester. Follow the link to read her latest blog.
